We are excited to announce that Katie Cicerchi, our former outreach and external affairs coordinator, has returned from Leogane, Haiti where she volunteered as an earthquake relief worker for two months last fall. She arrives just in time to help plan Team Transplant 2011, the Foundation’s charity cycling team riding in the Subaru Elephant Rock on Sunday, June 5th. Katie will work with the American Transplant Foundation until August 15th.

2010 Volunteer Appreciation Party

2010 CJ Spiegel Memorial Golf Tournament

CJ SpiegelThe American Transplant Foundation was the proud beneficiary of the Sixth Annual CJ Spiegel Memorial Gold Tournament on August 6, 2010! Eighty golfers gathered at the Gypsum Creek Golf Club in Gypsum, Colorado to remember CJ Spiegel, a young hero who gave the gift of life. Thanks to the event’s golfers, sponsors, and volunteers, this event raised more than $9,700 to support the Foundation.

Eagles Concert

American Transplant Foundation held a special fundraiser at the Eagles concert on May 20th at Denver’s Pepsi Center!

More than 70 guests mixed and mingled at an intimate pre-concert cocktail party in the Tuaca Chill Zone and enjoyed premium seating for the concert. Thanks to our supporters, this event raised $35,000 for the Foundation.

AMERICAN TRANSPLANT FOUNDATION AND DONOR ALLIANCE ANNOUNCE VIDEO CONTEST TO PROMOTE DONATE LIFE COLORADO & SPECIALTY LICENSE PLATE

DENVER, CO-– The American Transplant Foundation and Donor Alliance have announced the Show Us Your Heart Video Contest—a contest to promote Donate Life Colorado, the state’s organ and tissue donor registry, and the new Donate Life license plate that is now available for purchase at Title and Registration Offices throughout Colorado.

The contest, which begins March 17 and will run through April 23, will coincide with April’s National Donate Life Month—a time set aside to raise national awareness of the need for organ, tissue, marrow, and blood donors. (more…)

American Transplant Foundation and Donate Life Colorado are proud to present the 2010 Show Us Your Heart Video Contest.

April is National Donate Life Month (and Donate Life Colorado Month) and we need your help to publicize the need for organ and tissue donation!

We are seeking creative and factual videos that convey the importance of organ and tissue donation and encourage people to register their choice to become organ and tissue donors.

We are looking for videos that:

  • Convey the importance of saving lives through organ and tissue donation
  • Include factual information about donation and/or transplantation
  • Direct people to www.DonateLifeColorado.org to register to become organ and tissue donors
  • Are less than five minutes long

How to Enter

  1. Film a short video that demonstrates the importance of saving lives through organ and tissue donation
  2. Upload your video as a video response to the Contest Announcement video at youtube.com/DonateLifeColorado before 11:59 p.m. (MST) on Friday, April 23rd
  3. Submit your personal information into the form below
  4. Once your video has been posted as an official video response, do everything you can to spread the word and get as many views as possible!

If your video is one of the ten most viewed as of 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, you will win a $50 check to purchase Colorado’s new Donate Life license plates for your car!

AND, if your video is selected as the Viewers’ Choice, the video with the highest viewer rating from the top 10, or the Judges’ Choice, the judges’ favorite video from the top 10, you will win a $100 Visa Gift Card!

  • Be respectful
  • Keep your video under five minutes
  • Mention or show the URL www.DonateLifeColorado.org and communicate in some way that one can register as a donor on that site
  • Submit your personal information into the form below and agree to the Official Contest Rules
  • You must be a legal resident of the United States
  • You must be at least 18 years or older at the time of entry. (If you are under 18, have your parent or legal guardian enter the video for you.)

Rockies vs. Padres Baseball Game

Team Rocky Mountain, from the National Kidney Foundation of Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming, is selling tickets to the Colorado Rockies vs. San Diego Padres game on Sunday, April 11th to raise money to compete in the U.S. Transplant Games! Tickets are $38 each, $20 of which will go to the team. Please download the event voucher and send it to Lynn Hellickson before March 9th!
