In the run up to National Donate Life Month (April), the American Transplant Foundation held a special Twitter contest March 25th where we asked Team Transplant’s Twitter followers to tell us why they support organ and tissue donation. We picked our favorite tweet from the many we received and the author won a free 2010 Team Transplant jersey (left)!
Though we enjoyed reading all the tweets we received, we could only pick one winner! The winning tweet was:

First to $1,000 Challenge

Congratulations to Steve K, the winner of the First to $1,000 Challenge!
Steve, a kidney recipient, reached $1,000 in fundraising on Tuesday, March 23rd.
Don’t give up if you didn’t win! Everyone is still in the running to win top fund-raising prizes, including a Trek road bike worth $2,000!

If you are the first Team Transplant member to raise $1,000* by Saturday, April 17th, you will win a three month personal training program with former pro road racer Tyler Hamilton at his new company, Tyler Hamilton Training!
If you win, you will get to work directly with Tyler Hamilton for three months to reach your cycling goals.
This three-month training program includes:
- Goal Identification and Planning
- Hand Built Training Schedule for Optimum Performance
- Online Data Base Training Calendar
- Weekly Review of Heart Rate and/or Power Files
- One Phone Conversation with Tyler per Week
- One Email Exchange with Tyler per Week
- Discounts on THT Gear

Tyler Hamilton Training is based out of Boulder, Colorado.
*Rules:
- To win this training program, you must be the first person to raise $1,000 for the Foundation before 11:59 p.m. MST on 4-17-10. (This is not the same as committing to raise $1,000. The money must be in the door.)
- You may collect pledges through the fundraising website and/or through checks, but only pledges received by the Foundation by 11:59 p.m. MST on 4-17-10 will count toward the prize. (Aunt Mary’s $50 donation won’t count if it’s in the mail.)
- To be fair to all team members, only riders who do actual fundraising from their network of family and friends are eligible to win this prize. (For example, you cannot win by donating the $1,000 yourself.)

Show us why you support organ and tissue donation and you could win Colorado’s new Donate Life license plates for your car or a $100 Visa gift card!
American Transplant Foundation and Donate Life Colorado are proud to present the 2010 Show Us Your Heart Video Contest.
April is National Donate Life Month (and Donate Life Colorado Month) and we need your help to publicize the need for organ and tissue donation!
We are seeking creative and factual videos that convey the importance of organ and tissue donation and encourage people to register their choice to become organ and tissue donors.
We are looking for videos that:
- Convey the importance of saving lives through organ and tissue donation
- Include factual information about donation and/or transplantation
- Direct people to www.DonateLifeColorado.org to register to become organ and tissue donors
- Are less than five minutes long
How to Enter
- Film a short video that demonstrates the importance of saving lives through organ and tissue donation
- Upload your video as a video response to the Contest Announcement video at youtube.com/DonateLifeColorado before 11:59 p.m. (MST) on Friday, April 23rd
- Submit your personal information into the form below
- Once your video has been posted as an official video response, do everything you can to spread the word and get as many views as possible!
If your video is one of the ten most viewed as of 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, you will win a $50 check to purchase Colorado’s new Donate Life license plates for your car!
AND, if your video is selected as the Viewers’ Choice, the video with the highest viewer rating from the top 10, or the Judges’ Choice, the judges’ favorite video from the top 10, you will win a $100 Visa Gift Card!

Announcing the Winner of the 2009 Team Transplant Jersey Design Contest, Peter Gargiulo!

The American Transplant Foundation is proud to reveal the 2009 Team Transplant Bike Jersey, designed by Peter Gargiulo of Grand Designs Creative Services. Peter’s design was chosen for its slimming design, fine details, and bold representation of the American Transplant Foundation logo.
Team Transplant members will wear this jersey at the Elephant Rock Ride on Sunday, June 7th as they ride to prove that transplant recipients and living donors can lead healthy, active lives after receiving or giving the Gift of Life!
The 2009 Team Transplant Jersey Design Contest received dozens of creative, colorful, and unique designs from designers all over the country. Thank you to each and every one of you who submitted a design. We appreciate your interest and support!
