University of Colorado Hospital
The University of Colorado Hospital located in Aurora, Colorado, is the region’s leading specialty care and referral center. It is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, one of three campuses comprising the University of Colorado system. For almost two decades, the University of Colorado Hospital’s Multi-Organ Transplant Program has been performing heart, kidney, kidney/pancreas, liver, lung and heart/lung transplants to save lives. Today, the program is among the five largest in the country and is one of the only programs of its kind in the Rocky Mountain region. Donor Alliance is the federally designated non-profit organ procurement organization serving Colorado and Wyoming. As a recognized leader in facilitating the donation and recovery of transplantable organs and tissues, Donor Alliance’s primary objectives are to save and enhance the lives of others. To achieve these objectives, Donor Alliance employs an effective family approach and recovery programs in over 100 hospitals, and increases the awareness of the need for organ and tissue donation through public awareness and education campaigns in its service area.
