2009 Denver Diabetes Expo

The American Transplant Foundation partnered with Donor Alliance to exhibit at the Denver Diabetes Expo on Saturday, March 7th at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. Our volunteers encouraged attendees to register as organ and tissue donors and informed the public about diabetes, the leading cause of kidney failure. According to the American Diabetes Association, 23.6 million people in the United States have this disease, and in 2002, nearly 180,000 people with end-stage renal disease due to diabetes were living on chronic dialysis or with a kidney transplant.
