Donate Life Colorado Launch and Senate Joint Resolution 09-038

Donate Life ColoradoOn April 16, 2009, the American Transplant Foundation proudly joined our partners Donor Alliance, Donor Awareness Council, and the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank at the Colorado State Capitol as we re-launched the Colorado Donor Registry to Donate Life Colorado! Currently, the state is ranked second in the nation, at 64 percent, for the number of people who have registered as donors while renewing or applying for their driver’s license or state ID card. But through this exciting new Donate Life Colorado initiative, our goal is to become number one! We hope to inspire those who have not made the decision or may have ruled themselves out to Donate Life.

This resolution recognizes the importance of organ and tissue donation and directs Colorado’s state agencies to provide access to the Donate Life Colorado Registry for Colorado’s citizens, one of the American Transplant Foundation’s ongoing projects. Senator Romer and Representative Looper sponsored SJR09-038, and all other state legislators signed on as co-sponsors.
