“Patients on the North Shore will shave about 45 miles per round trip by traveling to Evanston instead of the University of Chicago. The cumulative cost savings for patients could prove substantial over time, Heltzel said.
‘It’s not just a long process, it’s a lifelong process,’ she said. ‘Health insurance doesn’t cover your travel time, lost work time, which can be a big factor for a lot of people.’”
