Olympian Missy Franklin Searches for Living Donors

Nelson Mandela once said, “Sport can create hope, where once there was only despair.”

We are honored to announce that the American Transplant Foundation is supporting families like Missy Franklin’s, a five-time Olympic gold medalist, as her family is searching for living kidney donors. Both Missy’s aunt (Deb, lives in MN) and her Dad (Dick, lives in CO) are in kidney failure because they suffer from a genetic disease (PKD) and need living kidney donors to survive.

Dick and Deb are just two out of 90,000 Americans who are in need of a kidney transplant. These lives could be saved if we have more living kidney donors. Becoming a living kidney donor might be easier than you think. The American Transplant Foundation will be there with you every step of the way.

Watch the recent interview with Missy and Dick on 9News where they discuss Dick’s new grandchild and his fight to save his life.

The motto of this year’s Games is, “Together for a Shared Future“.

Let us harness the Olympic spirit to Save Lives.
