The American Transplant Foundation’s Highly Anticipated Fundraising Event Raises Funds for Living Organ Donors, Transplant Recipients, and their Families.
The American Transplant Foundation strives to save lives by reducing the growing list of women, men, and children who are waiting for a transplant. We are proud to announce our 4th annual Trivia For Life event, being held on September 30th at the DaVita World Headquarters’ Sky Lounge in Downtown Denver. This year, Trivia For Life celebrates Steve Farber, the Co-Founder of the American Transplant Foundation, who passed away two years ago.
Steve Farber believed that no one should die while waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Through his own struggle of trying to find a living donor due to kidney failure, he realized how much needed to be done to help save lives here in America. Steve’s vision was to create a Foundation that goes beyond awareness and provides real help to transplant patients and their loved ones.
“This event celebrates the life and legacy of Steve Farber and we’re honored to welcome Steve’s son and the American Transplant Foundation’s Board Member, Gregg Farber, as the MC of this highly anticipated fundraising event. Gregg was Steve’s living kidney donor and knows first-hand the difficult journey that transplant patients and their families go through,” said Anastasia Henry, Executive Director of the American Transplant Foundation. “We’re thrilled to be back in person for the 4th annual Trivia For Life to come together and further our mission of supporting living donors and their families.”
Trivia For Life, which was started by Gregg Farber in 2018, has raised over $400,000 for the American Transplant Foundation! Just this year alone, Trivia For Life has raised so far $200,000 – which we believe is a world record for a Trivia Fundraiser!
Tickets are available through www.trivia4life.org with discounts available for living donors, transplant recipients, and young professionals.
The American Transplant Foundation is grateful to all committee members and specifically, Faye Gardenswartz.
To date, the American Transplant Foundation has helped save 1,922 lives and provided over $1,140,000 in direct patient and family support nationwide. Over 200 mentors who speak 12 languages have helped walk with others going through the transplant journey, and potential living donors have been given the tools to be able to save a life. 2,400 potential living donors are registered through the Foundation’s innovative Potential Living Donor Database. And among our proudest victories, legislation has been passed to support living donors and their families.
