Register as an organ and tissue donor
Even if you cannot become a living donor, you should register your intent to donate your organs after death. Make sure you are signed up on your state registry as a potential donor.
Find your state’s registry at DonateLife.net.
In Colorado, you can register at DonateLifeColorado.org.
Talk to your family
Be sure to talk to family and friends about your desire to be a donor so that they know and understand your wishes. If your friends and family would also like to donate their organs after death, encourage them to join their state’s registry.
Volunteer
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community. Many transplant organizations and organ procurement organizations (OPOs) have volunteers who help them spread the message of the importance of organ and tissue donation.
