"To anyone considering living donation I would want to them to know how selfless and amazing they are for even considering it. You could relive my burden of worrying if every night I kiss my children goodnight, if it will be the last time I see them. The impact you would make in my life, in my family's life would be tremendous.  "

Andrea—  POtential kidney Transplant Recipient

My name is Andrea, and I am asking for your help to save my life.

I am at 10% kidney function and day to day living is becoming more and more difficult.

I have been married to a wonderful man since November 2016.  We found each other late in life but couldn't imagine my life without him. We have a blended family of 4 children.  We love the beach and hunting for sea glass, being outdoors, and enjoying nature. We love to travel and do as much as we can with our children but it has been significantly impacted by my health.

The hardest part for me is feeling worse and worse every day and pretending that I am better than I am for my husband and my kids. To have 2 potential donors fall through , one being as I was getting wheeled into the operating room.  The emotional roller coaster, thinking it is your time and having it ripped away at the blink of an eye.  To have someone go through the entire donor process and change their mind at the last minute because of the pandemic.  It has been so hard for my and my family.

I am looking for a living donor to get a second chance at life.  I am ready to start living again.   I want to live my life for my family and my children, not live my life around my illness.  My children have had to make so many sacrifices because of my health.

My hopes are to live a long and healthy life after transplant and be able to take my children to see the world. To run with them, to know what it feels like to love life and not have to worry anymore. I had not been married 18 months when I became ill and hospitalized frequently.  I look forward to being able to walk and hike and do all the things I have been unable to do the past few years.

Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. No waiting and wondering while my body continues to weaken.

Thank you for taking your time to read and understand my current life situation, and we would appreciate you considering donating or spreading the word.

Thank you so much for your consideration!

Andrea
