In Need of a Kidney Donor

My name is Anthony, and today I am reaching out to ask you to consider becoming my living kidney donor. I am currently battling kidney failure and have been undergoing dialysis three days a week, four hours at a time, for the past four years.

My kidney failure is genetic, and from a young age, I understood that I might inherit this condition from my mother. Because of this, I made the difficult decision not to have children, as I didn’t want to risk passing this condition on to them.

Today, my life is severely limited by my disease. Every day feels like a struggle, and I face significant restrictions on the foods I can eat and the activities I can enjoy. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, my family and friends were unable to become donors due to lifestyle considerations. I have reached out through Facebook and other circles of life, but so far, I’ve had little success.

  • Step 1

Please contact UH Cleveland Medical Center Mather at 216-844-5685 to see if you are eligible to donate. You will need my full name: Anthony Justice

I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers, because I have no immediate family that is able to donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with any Type O+ blood type. Even if you do not have the same blood type, you can donate as part of a paired exchange program.

The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. I’d like to get my freedom back, to be able to travel and return at least in some small fashion to my outdoor lifestyle before the kidney failure. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you.

Thank you for considering saving my life.

With deep gratitude,

Anthony
