Telemundo captured a wonderful video of our recent Second Chance at Life Art Exhibit Premiere Party.

The Point Gallery in Denver, Colorado is hosting an art exhibit for transplant and organ donation related art from April 2 to April 16, 2015. At our opening party on April 2nd, Telemundo interviewed Transplant Leadership Council member Jose Amezola Beltran and artist Alex Palcio and created a lovely video capturing the spirit of the event.

Michelle Stewart meets Matthew Wyatt at our Transplant Art Exhibit

DENVER – After the tailgate of Robert Stewart’s went viral on the internet (read more “In the News” below), Michelle Stewart was able to meet the man who posted the photo online. Fox 31 visited our one-of-a-kind event to interview the pair as they met on live television! What a fantastic video showcasing the Second Chance at Life Art Exhibit Premiere Party and the wonderful moment when Michelle and Robert were able to meet Matthew Wyatt!

“All I did was post a picture, a few mouse clicks, next thing I know … it’s this,” said Matthew Wyatt, just moments before he was introduced to the woman he hopes will soon have a new kidney.

The American Transplant Foundation hosted a fundraiser on Thursday to bring these two unlikely strangers together.

Stand Up Comedy for Life!

January 31st, Stand Up Comedy for Life

The “Stand Up Comedy for Life” event at Lodo’s Bar and Grill was a night full of laughter and supporting a great cause! Thank you to everyone who came to the event to help support Michelle Stewart and the American Transplant Foundation to raise funds and spread awareness of living kidney donation! With four amazing comedians, the “Stand Up Comedy for Life” was a huge success.

The ultimate goal of the event was to help Michelle Stewart find a living kidney donor, and we are so excited that a few people came forward! Michelle has been struggling with Lupus for over 30 years and is now in need of a kidney transplant. The best case scenario for Michelle and others awaiting a kidney transplant is a living donor! The more potential living donors the better, so if you are considering donating please call (720) 848-0855.

Team Transplant Healthy Happy Hour

January 21, 2015 Meetup and Healthy Happy Hour at Whole Foods

meetup january

Team Transplant recently had a fun and free meetup! We learned from the experts at Whole Foods how to prepare meals and get the most out of our workouts on a tight schedule.

Teddi Bryant, from Hot Mamas gym in Denver, got our blood pumping with 30 minutes of easy exercise routines to apply at the office or at home!

The food tasting featured tasty, nutritious dishes that are a snap to whip up! They showed us how even the busiest person can squeeze in a homemade meal or a smoothie on the go.

This event is FREE, fun, healthy and informational! Join Team Transplant as we learn from the experts at Whole Foods how to prepare meals and get the most out of our workouts on a tight schedule.

TLC Holiday Party

The American Transplant Foundation’s Young Professionals Group, the Transplant Leadership Council (TLC),  assists the Foundation in its mission to save lives through transplant, and help fund and steward the Patient Assistance Program.

Each year, we gather to reflect and celebrate the growth of the Patient Assistance Program and all the lives impacted. This year, we celebrated the aid of a record 157 patients in 2014! Those 157 patients received critical financial aid when it mattered most, and many were enabled to give the Gift of Life through TLC’s life-saving program. Here are two great photos from the end of year TLC celebration.

Tree of Life 2014

Tree of Life: Spreading Holiday Cheer!

Everyone looks forward to the excitement that the holiday season brings. The American Transplant Foundation created Tree of Life to help spread that joy to transplant and dialysis patients in the Denver metro area. This year we supported 70 transplant and dialysis patients nationwide through the generous monetary and gift card donations of our supporters!

This gift came to us in the right moment…  We did not have money to make a warm dinner. I was sad, but now, thanks to the American Transplant Foundation we are having a nice warm dinner.

This year the team set a huge record! The 11 teammates raised $6,990 towards American Transplant Foundation programs to help the most vulnerable patients nationwide.

On Sunday, October 19 Team Transplant ran to raise awareness surrounding the lifesaving importance of organ donation while jamming to Rock ‘n’ Roll played by local bands.  Inspired at every mile by a variety of rock, punk, funk and jazz, Team Transplant joined thousands of runners on a tour of the city.

Encouraged by over 15,000 race day fans, runners competed in distances varying from a 5k to the half marathon.  At the end, we all came together for an intimate gathering at Sassafras American Eatery to enjoy delicious brunch and do the well-anticipated raffle drawings!

Please join us next year to fight for the lives of the 123,000 men, women, and children nationwide waiting for organ transplants!!
