My name is Charles, and I am asking for your help to save my life.
I am in end stage renal disease and on peritoneal dialysis. I am in urgent need of a kidney.
I am an ex-Marine with an honorable discharge. After working for 20 years, I retired from Dupont in Richmond, VA. I have five beautiful grandchildren. In my spare time I enjoy fishing, gardening, photography, household repairs, working on cars, and long walks. Some of which has been hindered by my diagnosis.
I have to hook up to a dialysis machine every night. I have countless doctor's appointments and lab work. I am hypertensive and diabetic. I am limited in my physical abilities, which causes me to not be able to enjoy my hobbies.
It causes me anxiety thinking that I may not be there to watch my kids and grandkids grow. My wife and I have been together for 40 years and I would love to spend many more years with her.
By donating an organ to me it would be the greatest blessing that I could receive. It would allow me more time to spend with my grandkids, who affectionately call me "PaPa". My family and I would be forever grateful to my donor and that family will forever be in our prayer.
My daughter has tested, unfortunately she has the same predisposition for kidney failure. So she was excluded from being my donor. My other daughter was born with medical issues that exclude her from being a donor. Now, I am looking for a donor with type B+ blood.
Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. No waiting and wondering while my body continues to weaken.
Thank you for taking your time to read and understand my current life situation, and we would appreciate you considering donating or spreading the word.
Thank you so much for your consideration!
Charles
