“My dream for transplant is to be able to do things on my own again and feel like a person. I can’t wait to be able to go to the park with my grandkids.”

In Need of a Living Donor

My name is Crystal, and I am asking for your help to save my life.

I have been on the transplant list for three years and am now in complete liver failure. I am also battling pulmonary hypertension and congestive heart failure. Most of my family and friends have generously offered to donate, but unfortunately, medical complications prevented them from being a match. Despite this, their efforts led many to discover health issues early, and for that, I couldn’t be more grateful.

My daughter has been a powerful advocate, organizing a quarter auction in my honor and sharing my story across various media platforms. My dream after a transplant is to reclaim my independence, by doing simple things like going to the park with my grandkids. I remain hopeful that a donor will come forward to give me the gift of life.

I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers, because I have no immediate family that is able to donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with any Type O blood type.

I have been on the transplant list for over three years and the most difficult part of this process for me has been the fear I won’t get a donor in time before I die.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you.

Thank you for considering saving my life.

With deep gratitude,

Crystal
