My name is Domenico Marcario, and I am asking for your help to save my life.
I am currently 75 years old and in good health but functioning at 10% of my kidney capacity. I will be doing home dialysis but am not sure how soon. I have been cleared at Dartmouth to receive a living donor only. This is because of my age. I am waiting to be accepted at Yale/New Haven Transplant, but have not yet been evaluated.
I am a retired math teacher, having taught math for almost 40 years. I still have contact with some of my students. I love to read and am a lifelong learner. My wife and I live in the country where every day is a joy to behold. I am a spiritual person who has devoted my life to education and helping those less fortunate than me.
I’m searching for someone to become my living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers, because my children have all been screened and none qualify. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. No waiting and wondering while my body continues to weaken.
All medical costs are covered by my insurance. The American Transplant Foundation also covers lost wages for living donors, so you won't have to worry about being away from work.
Thank you for saving my Life!
Domenico
