My name is Dorothy, and I am asking for your help to save my life.
I was born and raised in Danville Virginia. My father was well known in our town and become one of the top black owned tobacco growers in Virginia. I grew up working on the farm and from there I went to work in a plant that made furniture. I really enjoy cooking and every day I would take food for lunch for all my work associates. The company eventually went out of business and I became a caretaker and have been doing that up until my decline in health. I am also an avid church member who serves on various church committees.
I had one kidney removed due to cysts on kidney. Thereafter I caught pneumonia and that has affected my other kidney. I currently only have one kidney and that kidney is going bad. I have. until the end of 2022 to find a Kidney donor.
Everyone that I have reached out to something going on health wise that prevents them from being able to donate.
I would like to say that I would be truly grateful to anyone who considers to donate a kidney to me. It is not easy to ask complete strangers about donating a kidney but I hope my story can touch someone's heart and they consider me.
Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. No waiting and wondering while my body continues to weaken.
I would appreciate you sharing this information with anyone that you know who might be interested or a match.
Thank you so much for your consideration!
Dorothy
