“Donating for me will allow a girl to keep her mother and will keep our family together for many more years!  You will be forever in our hearts and part of our family!”

In Need of a Liver Donor

My name is Jennifer, and I am asking for your help to save my life.

I am a mother to two wonderful daughters, ages 23 and 9. Before my illness, I owned a jewelry-making business and loved designing pieces for brides-to-be. My dream is to one day see my daughters get married and create their wedding jewelry. I also enjoyed swimming, gardening, taking walks with our family dog, and playing with our cats, but my illness has taken away my ability to do these things.

In 2022, I was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease after experiencing life-threatening bleeding. Over the past three years, I have been hospitalized 15 times. My condition has led to severe weight loss, malnutrition, and debilitating fatigue, often requiring me to spend up to 16 hours a day in bed. I suffer from brain fog, short-term memory loss, and painful swelling in my legs. I can no longer drive, struggle with daily nausea and vomiting, and have difficulty maintaining my weight. Most of all, I worry about my 9-year-old daughter and the possibility of leaving her without a mother.

A liver transplant is my only chance at survival, and without one, I may not have more than a year to live. My greatest hope is to return to being fully present in my daughters’ lives. I dream of restarting my jewelry business, taking my dog for walks, and enjoying vacations with my family again.

I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers because I have no immediate family that can donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with Type O- blood type.

The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. I hope to be able to be fully present for my daughters, restart my jewelry business, and enjoy life’s simple joys with my family again. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you.

Thank you for considering saving my life.

With deep gratitude,

Jennifer
