In Need of a Kidney Donor
I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of friends and strangers because I have no immediate family that can donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with any Type A+, B+, O+, and AB+ blood type. Even if you do not have the same blood type, you can donate as part of a paired exchange program.
The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. Dialysis treatments take a toll on me as they always take too much fluid making me feel ill or weak. There aren’t enough words in the universe to thank you for the second chance you will be giving me. I would forever be grateful to be able to not get stuck and suffer at dialysis for another day. I hope to have more energy to spend with my family and grandchildren. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.
Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you. In addition, the American Transplant Foundation has financial assistance available to cover any lost wages while you donate for those eligible after the donation.
Thank you for considering saving my life.
With deep gratitude,
Mel
