“I hope to be in your shoes one day and save the life of someone like me.  It’s the greatest gift one can give.  There will be no thank you big enough to express the gratitude I have for you. And …I promise to pay it forward”

In Need of a Liver Donor

My name is Michele, and I am asking for your help to save my life. I am on the liver transplant list in New York.

My fiancé and I are presently building a home and have much acreage for my children to build as well and have their horses on the land. This has always been my dream which my fiancé is bringing to life for me as well as them. Family holidays are very precious to me with all of our children and grandchildren. We have a beautiful family and future planned and I will continue to pray, search, and fight for the life saving liver I so desperately need.

I have end stage liver disease due to primary biliary cholangitis and autoimmune hepatitis. I have a decompensated liver and have developed moderate hepatic encephalopathy as well as reduced blood flow to major organs. At this point my brain, heart and right kidney are suffering from the effects due to lack of oxygen. My body can no longer filter the toxins in my brain which leaves me with a poor quality of life.

My dreams are to get married to the amazing man in my life, picking up and holding my grandsons, sailing/ enjoying the Great Lakes I grew up on, and becoming a live donor myself once my doctors say I’m able to. Saving someone from the fear, anguish and pain of waiting is what I want to do for someone. Donating is a gift that will save their life and give them the future they dreamed of before becoming sick. That’s my greatest hope.

  • Step 1

Please call to see if you are eligible to donate by calling my Living Donor Coordinator at 585-275-5875. You will need my name: Michele Daly

I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers as I have no immediate family that can donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with Type A+ or O blood type.

The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. I hope to continue to be there with my family and to be involved with my community. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential, and medical costs are covered by my insurance.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you.

Thank you for considering saving my life.

With deep gratitude,

Michele
