Milan Kinkhabwala, MD, FACS
Dr. Kinkhabwala completed medical school at Cornell University Medical College with honors in research and did his residency in surgery at New York Hospital–Cornell Medical Center. He held a postgraduate fellowship in transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery at UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Kinkhabwala then joined the faculty at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and Cornell Medical Center in New York and instituted a new program in pancreas transplantation at Cornell. He also cofounded the Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation at Columbia, a novel integrated liver center established in 1997.
Dr. Kinkhabwala is an expert in hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation. He performs complex operations on the liver, including live-donor liver transplantation. He has held leadership roles in such national organizations as the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the American Society of Transplantation and the International Liver Transplant Society. Dr. Kinkhabwala is a Hepatobiliary and Transplant Surgeon, the Director of Abdominal Transplantation, and Chief of Transplantation at Montefiore Medical Center.
