My name is Shaina, and I am asking for your help to save my life.
I have kidney disease and am on dialysis. My family members have been ruled out for donating due to heart disease, diabetes, and an autoimmune disorder.
I love reading and writing. I have an masters in literary writing and work as an editor. I love cooking when I have the energy and enjoy spending time with my husband and our fur babies (2 cats and a gentle giant German shepherd).
I feel like I’m missing out on the best years of my life. It’s been a constant struggle the past ten years with sickness and no energy. My current life is ruled by dialysis and I can no longer travel or even go away for an evening. I never had a honeymoon and can’t even consider wearing a bathing suit because my belly is bloated with a tube sticking out (from dialysis). I am looking forward to going to Disneyworld after finally receiving a transplant.
To anyone who would consider donating to me: Thank you for allowing me to live again.
Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. No waiting and wondering while my body continues to weaken.
Thank you for taking your time to read and understand my current life situation, and we would appreciate you considering donating or spreading the word.
Thank you so much for your consideration!
Shaina
