In Need of a Kidney Donor

My name is Shamshad, and I am asking for your help to save my life.

I am on the kidney transplant list.

I am family-oriented and value spending time with loved ones. I try to stay positive and hopeful despite my health challenges. Your generosity could save my life. Even considering being tested means more than I can express. Thank you for your time and kindness.

Right now, my life revolves around dialysis treatments. I go to dialysis multiple times a week, and it takes a lot of my time and energy. I often feel tired, weak, and limited in what I can do. Simple activities that most people take for granted require planning around my treatments and how I’m feeling that day. Dialysis is keeping me alive, and I’m grateful for it — but it is not a normal life. The hardest part is the uncertainty and physical exhaustion. Not knowing when I will get a kidney is emotionally and mentally stressful.

I’m hoping for a transplant so I can regain my strength and live more fully again.

I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers, because I have no immediate family that is able to donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with any blood type. Even if you do not have the same blood type, you can donate as part of a paired exchange program.

The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. I hope to regain my health, energy, and independence so I can live a normal life again. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you.

Thank you for considering saving my life.

With deep gratitude,

Shamshad
