In Need of a Liver Donor

My name is Steve, and I am asking for your help to save my life. I am 63 years old and on the liver transplant list in Pennsylvania.

Family and community mean everything to me. I co-own two self-storage facilities with my sister that we built together to provide for our family. I have always been the person people turn to when they need help—whether it’s fixing something, lending a hand, or offering support. I love working on old cars, motorcycles, and trucks, and I also enjoy spending time at my cabin in upstate New York four-wheeling, snowmobiling, or fishing. Most of all, I cherish time with my daughter, who is 20 years old and just beginning her adult life.

I am living with stage 4 liver cancer, which has caused rapid weight loss, constant fatigue, and severe pain. I had to stop targeted radiation treatment due to high risk of internal bleeding. Despite these challenges, I still have so much to live for. I want to see my daughter graduate college and law school, walk her down the aisle, meet my grandchildren someday, and continue giving back to my community.

I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers as I have no immediate family that can donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with any Type O blood type.

The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. I hope to continue to be there with my daughter and to be involved with my community.
