" Being with friends and family and sharing just simple moments of joy and laughter wherever we may be. "

about Tishy—  POtential kidney Transplant Recipient

Tishy is on the kidney transplant list in Columbus, OH.

Tishy and I have been married 25 years. I still work and she is retired. We are active in out church and have a a wonderful group of family and friends. We love to spend time camping with our grandson and we do a variety of things with family and friends. Tishy actively likes to work out at the gym.

Tishy's health is excellent except for one thing: her kidneys. She gets tired and a little confused on dialysis days, but that goes away pretty quick. Her life is limited by dialysis three times a week , three and a half hours for each treatment. She is active with her friends on non-treatment days. She also is a Christian who is active in her church.

The living donor treatment is a very good way to recieve a transplsant because the match would be confirmed. Living organ transplant is also less stressful to the donated organ . A planned living donor transplant would be easier for caregiving, which would help me schedule the time off work to take care of Tishy.

We have just  started this process. Tishy's family is older and has some health issues of their own, so they are not able to donate. She is compatible with any Type O blood type.

The most difficult thing about waiting for a transplant is
loss time with her grandson, limited travel, and loss three days a week- Those three days a week are not very productive.

The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you. In addition, the American Transplant Foundation has a Financial Resource Guide you can consult for further information.

We hope to get back to a normal life of sharing Christ with others through our church and spending quality time with our grandson and watching him grow up--Being with friends and family and sharing just simple moments of joy and laughter where ever we may be.

Thank you for considering saving her life.

With deep gratitude,
Tishy and Family
