In Need of a Kidney Donor

My name is Alex, and I am asking for your help to save my life.

I’m a 26-year-old woman with so much to look forward to in life. I recently bought a home, I’m advancing in my career, and I’m getting married in July 2025. My fiancé and I have been planning to start a family soon after the wedding. Having children and filling our home with love and animals has always been my dream. I already have two dogs and two cats who bring so much joy to my life.

I’m an only child, and my dad passed away two years ago. My mom has been my rock throughout everything and has always been there for me with unwavering support.

Right now, I’m facing a serious health challenge. I’m in late stage 4 kidney disease and approaching stage 5. I’m hoping to receive a kidney transplant soon so I can return to a more normal and fulfilling life. At the moment, I’m still working full-time, but I know I’ll soon have to go part-time when I begin dialysis. I feel tired all the time, and even daily tasks like walking my dogs have become overwhelming.

The idea of starting dialysis and reducing my work hours is frightening. I worry about being able to keep up with my bills and the possibility of losing the home I worked so hard to purchase. I want nothing more than to stay healthy and continue building the future I’ve dreamed of—a life filled with family, love, and purpose.

I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers, because I have no immediate family that is able to donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with Type B- or O- blood type. Even if you do not have the same blood type, you can donate as part of a paired exchange program.

The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. I have big dreams for my life: I hope to move up into a management role at the company where I work, and one day I’d love to buy a larger home with a big yard outside the city. I imagine filling that space with even more animals. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you.

Thank you for considering saving my life.

With deep gratitude,

Alex
