In Need of a Kidney Donor

My name is Anthony, and I am asking for your help to save my life.

My immediate family includes my wife and one sister. My wife and I enjoy camping, fishing, walking our dogs, and being active in our church community.

I’ve been on the transplant waiting list for six months. Right now, I am just 2 percent away from needing to start dialysis, and I spend most of my time focusing on my health in hopes of delaying it for as long as possible. I’ve learned that a kidney from a living donor is often in better condition and tends to last longer than one from a deceased donor.

Unfortunately, my wife was recently ruled out as a potential donor. She is the only close family I have left, so I no longer have family options for donation. A living donor would give me the chance to return to the active life I miss so much. I would be forever grateful for such a generous and life-changing gift.

I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers, because I have no immediate family that is able to donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with Type O+ blood type. Even if you do not have the same blood type, you can donate as part of a paired exchange program.

The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. I hope to one day return to the activities I used to love, like fishing and camping. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you.

Thank you for considering saving my life.

With deep gratitude,

Anthony
