Although you don’t know me, your selfless act will bring joy, not only to me but to my whole family. I feel that I still have the will to continue fighting to become whole again. You and your donation would be responsible for that, and for that I thank you.

In Need of a Liver Donor
My name is Beatriz, I am 63 years old, and currently on the liver transplant list in Pennsylvania.
I spent 53 wonderful years in Miami, working primarily in the hospitality and medical fields. Though I loved the vibrant atmosphere of Miami, the hustle and bustle eventually led me to seek a more peaceful lifestyle in Pennsylvania. My mother remains in Miami, while my father resides in Venezuela. Despite the distance, their love and support are invaluable to me, especially during this difficult time.
I have always loved being active, enjoying daily walks, movies, music, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Recently, however, my health has declined, and I am now seeking a living liver donor to help restore my quality of life.
Currently, I experience more bad days than good. I suffer from low energy, frequent blood loss, and hypokalemia, a potentially life-threatening condition due to low sodium electrolytes, amongst other medical struggles. Everyday activities like walking and climbing stairs have become challenging, and I occasionally battle with depression.
Despite these hardships, I remain hopeful and determined to regain my health. A living liver donor could make an extraordinary difference, not only for me but for my family and loved ones who wish to see me healthy and happy again. Your compassion and generosity could be the key to helping me return to the active, engaging life I once enjoyed.
I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers because I have no immediate family that can donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with any Type O or Type A+ blood type.
The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. I hope to gain the strength to visit my father in Venezuela, who I have not seen in 22 years, and continue spending time with my family. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.
Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you. In addition, the American Transplant Foundation has financial assistance available to cover any lost wages while you donate for those who are eligible after the donation.
Thank you for considering saving my life.
With deep gratitude,
Beatriz
