I have many dreams and much more to accomplish in this world. You will literally save my life by making the decision to donate a kidney to me.”

In Need of a Kidney Donor

My name is Jonathan, and I am asking for your help to save my life.

I’m 25 years old and an engineer by trade, with a Master of Science in Material Science and Engineering from UC San Diego. Outside of work, I enjoy playing soccer and designing video games. I’m originally from California but grew up as a military child, which gave me the chance to live in places like Germany and Hawaii. Both of my parents served as U.S. Marines, and I’m lucky to have a very supportive mom, dad, and a beautiful sister who are all rooting for my health and recovery. I also have a wonderful girlfriend who’s been by my side through this entire process.

About a month ago, I was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease, caused by a genetic condition that attacks the kidneys’ filtration system. I had no symptoms and no warning; this was only discovered during a routine blood test that led to an immediate hospital stay. My life was completely normal before this diagnosis.

I’m currently undergoing dialysis, but it’s not a long-term solution. Thankfully, I’ve been told I’m an excellent candidate for a preemptive kidney transplant. You will literally save my life by making the decision to donate a kidney to me. I know that this is a decision not made lightly, but you have an opportunity to make a life-saving impact.

I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers, because I have no immediate family that is able to donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with any Type A or O blood type. Even if you do not have the same blood type, you can donate as part of a paired exchange program.

The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. I hope to live a normal, healthy life, start a family one day, and continue to grow in my career as an engineer, contributing to meaningful breakthroughs. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you.

Thank you for considering saving my life.

With deep gratitude,

Jonathan
