“I am hopeful to find a kidney donor who can gift me a normal life, enabling me to participate in activities with my kids and spend quality time with them.”

In Need of a Kidney Donor

My name is Kuljeet and I am asking for your help to save my life.

I am 36-year-old and on the Kidney transplant list in Texas. I am a single mother of twin boys under 10 and navigating life while managing my health challenges alone. Despite the challenges I face with my health, nothing brings me more happiness than spending time with my children, watching them grow and flourish.

In October 2022, I was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy, and now my kidneys are functioning at just 12%. Living with low energy levels has been a constant struggle, making it difficult for me to participate in my sons’ extracurricular activities. The possibility of a kidney transplant from a living donor offers the best chance for immediate functionality and a higher survival rate compared to waiting for a deceased donor. It would mean everything to me to regain my energy and health, enabling me to spend quality time with my boys and be there for them as they grow.

Unfortunately, my family members, including my father, mother, and sister, are unable to donate, and my brother, who was willing to donate, faces challenges obtaining a visa from India. With no suitable donor in sight yet, my search for a living kidney donor is my lifeline—a chance to prolong my life and ensure my sons’ well-being. Your generosity in considering organ donation could give me the precious gift of a normal life with my children, participating in their activities and creating lasting memories together.

I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers, because I have no immediate family that is able to donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with any Type O+, O-, B+, or B- blood type. Even if you do not have the same blood type, you can donate as part of a paired exchange program.

The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. I hope to continue a lifetime of traveling, visiting my family, and spending time with my children. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you.

Thank you for considering saving my life.

With deep gratitude,

Kuljeet
