“I dream of being involved with my family again and enjoying activities with them. This includes hunting, fishing, camping, and all of their school and extracurricular activities. It would be nice to actually feel good again.  There are not many good days.”

In Need of a Liver Donor

My name is Trent, and I am asking for your help to save my life.

I have always loved the outdoors—hunting, camping, fishing, and ATVing are some of my greatest passions. But above all, my family means everything to me. My children live nearby, and we spend a lot of time together. They are the most important part of my life.

My life has changed dramatically due to my health. I am experiencing increased ascites and now require a paracentesis (fluid draining) every week, with the amount increasing over the past month. This has made it difficult to stay active, work, and most importantly, spend quality time with my family—especially my wife, daughter, and grandkids. I struggle to sleep more than two hours a night, my appetite has changed, and I rely on protein shakes to maintain my weight. It has truly been a life-altering experience.

More than anything, I want to feel better so I can be present in my family’s daily lives again. Not being able to participate with them the way I used to is incredibly difficult. I also hope to regain my strength and return to work.

Please contact my Transplant Center below if you would like to learn more or be tested to become my donor. You will need my name (Trent Charlesworth) and my birthday (03/24/1964)

I am looking for a living donor. I am asking this of both friends and strangers because I have no immediate family that can donate. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with any Type O or A blood type.

The most difficult part of waiting for a transplant is not knowing what the future holds. I hope to regain my strength so I can be more active in my family’s life, spend quality time with them, and return to work. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you.

Thank you for considering saving my life.

With deep gratitude,

Trent
