My daughter is my whole world, I wouldn’t be here without her.

In Need of a Liver

Scott

I have been on the waitlist for a new liver for 6 months now. I am constantly in and out of the hospital every other week because of my liver disease. Every day it is failing more and more, and this disease has taken away my energy and strive to do anything. My doctors say I’m relying on this miracle donor to help me and save my life. Waiting on the list will probably be too late by the time I get to the top.

Before I had this disease I was a big-time fan of watching stock car racing. My daughter is my whole world, I wouldn’t be here without her. A lot of my family cares about me and my health, but a lot of them don’t as well. I used to have a job and now I can’t work, so now my life consists of hospitals, staying home and getting rest, and just waiting.

A living donor would be saving my life and my daughter’s life. This disease has affected both of our lives tremendously and words can’t describe the gratefulness that we would have for you.

After a transplant, I am looking forward to having the summers I used to have with my daughter, and working again so I don’t have to stress financially.  I just want to be able to get out of the house for more than 30 minutes without feeling too tired and sick.

Please contact my transplant coordinator below if you would like to learn more or be tested to become my donor. You will need my name: Scott Degenstein.

    Transplant Coordinator: 206-598-0337

I am looking for a living donor. I have no immediate family that is able to donate. Waiting on the list will probably be too late by the time I get to the top. Living donor transplants generally have better outcomes and can be arranged at a time convenient for both parties. I am compatible with Type O+ blood type.

The most difficult part about waiting for a transplant is keeping hope in me. When the doctors tell me I’m relying on a donor to save my life, it brings me down but I have to remember to keep my head up. The first step is to contact my transplant center using the information in the box above. The entire process is strictly confidential and medical costs are covered by my insurance.

Please review existing Living Donor Benefits/Rights to determine which apply to you. In addition, the American Transplant Foundation has financial assistance available to cover any lost wages while you donate for those who are eligible after donation.

Thank you for considering saving my life.

With deep gratitude, Scott
